Video Friends Birthdays
Wishing your friends a happy birthday is a very important task you should be doing on a daily basis on Facebook. In this post, I show you how to do this.
1. Click on the home tab

2. Scroll down the page, and look in the right side bar… you'll see the Events tab. You can see any up and coming events and who's birthday it is today, tomorrow and the following day.

You can then either:
- Send that person a birthday greeting message via email on Facebook
- Write a nice message on their wall
- Tag them in a video message which you have recorded.
In this strategy, I wanted to show you how I'm using video to do this.
I recorded a quick video which says happy birthday, hope you have a great day… and look forward to getting to know more about you in the future.
Each day, I check who's birthday it is, and I tag them in the video. The person who's birthday then gets a message that Gavin Mountford has just tagged them in the Happy Birthday video.
They come over to my video and profile to check it out and usually leave a comment.
The following day, I remove them from the tag and tag the next person who's birthday it is. Some days, it's 5 people's birthday, so I just tag all 5 people in the video… then remove them the following day.
Here's the video I recorded. You'll see that the video quality isn't that great, but it doesn't matter, it gets the message across… I used my new Web Cam which has an inbuilt microphone to record the happy birthday message.
If you haven't started recording video yet, it's much easier than you think. Just go for it, get out of your comfort zone and record a message.
Everytime you do this, you are making a stronger personal connection with that person. They come over to your profile, comment on your video which then shows up in their news feed and then other people come over to watch the video. Some of those people may click on a link to your website, and sign up to your newsletter or business opportunity.
The main reason I do this is to make stronger connections with my friends on Facebook and to expose my brand to new people. The more active you can be on Facebook, the more people will see you.
Even if you don't follow the Video birthday strategy, I strongly recommend getting into the daily habit of wishing people a happy birthday on Facebook.
